Recently, Lebanese singer Elissa was held guest on the talent show ‘Super Star’ that is hoed by Egyptian journalist Sally Shaheen. On the show, it was very apparent that Elissa had gained some weight and before anyone criticized her for it she pointed out the matter to her fans on her official page on the social network Twitter.
On her page, Elissa stated that she is worried about the weight she gained, and she intends on taking her fans advice and return to her routine diet and start watching what she eats to avoid losing her perfect figure.

A fellowship program recognized and awarded nine Arab women US$20,000 to continue their research as part of an effort to encourage women in scientific pursuits under the slogan “World needs science. Science needs women.”
The L’Oreal-UNESCO Pan-Arab Regional Fellowship for Women in Science, managed by the Arab Science and Technology Foundation, accepts fellows from 17 Arab countries. It presented this year’s awards at a conference in Beirut on 4 October.
Dr. Nabil Saleh, head of the jury that chose the winners, spoke about the importance of the competition.
“Women in the Arab world are generally underprivileged,” Saleh said. “The fields of science and technology are often the pulse of development, and in the Arab world, women are obviously missing in the forefront of these fields.” (more…)

But in recent years the number of beauty parlours specifically for young girls has risen.
One such business is Chez Lulu, which offers make-up and hairstyling for girls aged four years and up.
When it opened, the business attracted criticism from parents who said the treatments were unsuitable for children.
Yara Khoury-Mikhael was crowned Sunday 10 july 2011 night as Miss Lebanon 2011 following a lavish beauty pageant held at Beirut Souks.
The former Lebanese American University student pipped runners up Pamela Jabour and Sonia-Lynn Gabriel to the 2011 crown. She replaces incumbent Rahaf Abdullah as Lebanon’s beauty queen. Not sure if she deserved to win or not, but she is way more beautiful than the previous one we had last year.
